Raising a puppy is about far more than teaching commands. The experiences your puppy has during these early months can shape how they feel about the world for years to come. Confidence, resilience, emotional regulation, social skills, independence, and the ability to cope with life’s challenges all begin developing long before behavioural problems ever appear. Puppy FUNdamentals is a personalised 1:1 puppy support programme designed to help your puppy build these essential foundations from the very beginning. Unlike traditional puppy classes, every session is tailored specifically to your puppy, their personality, their environment, and your family’s goals. Whether your puppy is bold and adventurous, sensitive and cautious, or somewhere in between, we’ll adapt the programme to support their individual personality, needs, and stage of development. As a certified canine behaviourist, I take a whole-dog approach to puppy development. Alongside training and life skills, we’ll also explore the factors that influence behaviour and wellbeing, including emotional development, social experiences, enrichment, handling, physical comfort, equipment, routine, nutrition, and everyday management. Over four personalised sessions, we’ll focus on helping your puppy develop the skills they need to thrive in the real world, including: • Confidence and optimism around new people, places, and experiences • Emotional regulation and calmness • Socialisation done thoughtfully and at your puppy’s pace • Cooperative care and handling for grooming and veterinary visits • Independence and resilience • Recall, lead skills, and real-world adventures • Understanding puppy communication and behaviour • Navigating adolescence and common developmental challenges You’ll also receive personalised guidance, resources, and ongoing support throughout the programme, ensuring you feel confident supporting your puppy every step of the way. Because every puppy is different, the journey is never one-size-fits-all. My goal is simple: to help your puppy grow into a confident, resilient, and well-rounded dog while giving you the knowledge and support to enjoy the journey together. Optional Puppy Progress Sessions Every puppy develops at their own pace. For families who would like continued support, an optional Puppy Progress package is available. These sessions can be used to build on existing skills, navigate new challenges, or provide guidance as your puppy grows into adolescence and beyond.
